In 1992, The New Tecumseth Singers were formed by two local musicians, with the intent to offer members of the local community the opportunity to learn and present to the public high quality choral music. The choir, a non-profit organization, performs a broad range of musical styles at our concerts. Our musical repertoire consists of jazz, pop, world music, broadway show tunes and classical.
At our concerts, we feature local musicians to join our concerts, which allows these individuals the opportunity to perform in the cultural community in New Tecumseth. Our Artistic Director/Conductor Johannes Wervers feels it is vitally important to include youth whenever possible.
The New Tecumseth Singers welcomes all singers with various degrees of singing abilities and we encourage our members to develop their skills through weekly practices, workshops and being part of a group that love choral music
Our mission is to bring singers together to pursue their musical interests and broaden their vocal skills through making music in a concert choir setting. The NTS endeavours to enrich the cultural environment of the greater community through music, while enhancing the musicianship of our members.
